Description

This brooch depicting a baby dragon is crafted from translucent celadon-green jade. Made in China in the 19th or early 20th century, the piece consists of a carved element representing the silhouette of a dragon, mounted as a brooch. The stone displays a nuanced celadon hue and the translucent quality characteristic of jade. The object measures 2 cm in height, 3 cm in width and 8.5 cm in depth. The piece is in very good condition. It comes from the former collection of Larissa Andersen (1911–2012), who lived in Shanghai from 1922 to 1958.
