This bronze with a brown patina, measuring 64 cm in height, takes the performing arts as its theme. It depicts a female dog trainer in a fitted costume with a scalloped ruff and a pointed cap, encouraging a small dog standing on its hind legs to pass through a hoop. The figure stands on a circular base modelled as a fringed carpet decorated with geometric motifs. The piece is signed on the base by Vincent-Désiré Faure de Brousse, a pupil of Jules Salmson who exhibited at the Salon de Paris between 1876 and 1883.
