Depicting Ariadne, this bronze bust with a brown patina is a Parisian work from the Napoleon III period, bearing the signature of the art publisher Léopold Oudry. The model has a face tilted slightly downwards, framed by braided curls held in place by a sprig. The bust rests on its moulded, square-section socle. A chemist, technician and art publisher in Paris, Léopold Oudry was principally active between 1854 and 1882. The cast measures 28 cm in height, with a width of 15 cm across the shoulders and a base measuring 8 cm on each side.
