Double-curved painted wooden corner piece, 18th century

This double-curved corner cabinet is made of painted wood and dates from the 18th century. Originating from the Spa region of Belgium, this corner cabinet opens at the front via two arched doors surmounted by a top resembling painted marble. The polychrome decoration on a pastel background is framed by blue fillet mouldings and oval panels adorned with bouquets of roses. The side panels and the carved lower crossbar extend the curved line of the structure. Signs of wear, slight cracks and areas where the paint has worn away are visible on the surface. The piece measures 104 cm in height and 63 cm in width.
