Half-moon gilded wooden wall sconce, 18th century

This half-moon-shaped console table is made of gilded wood. Produced in France in the 18th century, it is characteristic of the Louis XVI period. Its curved rail is openwork with a Greek frieze, beneath which hang garlands of foliage carved in festoons. The structure is supported by two tapered front legs, featuring fluting and topped with connecting blocks adorned with carved rosettes. The piece is 45 cm high and 33 cm wide. Visually, the gilded surface reveals a patina and slight signs of wear that preserve the relief of the decoration.
