Description

This table lamp depicting an ephebe is crafted from acrylic with a bronze patina and dates from circa 1970. This Greco-Roman-inspired light fitting rests on an acrylic base imitating porphyry. The piece is topped with a lampshade made to measure by Marie-Clothilde Amalric. The synthetic material has been worked to produce a finish that imitates the patina of bronze for the sculpted figure and that of porphyry stone for the base. The depiction of the ephebe draws directly on the classical Greco-Roman repertoire. The piece has a diameter of 38.5 centimetres and a total height of 78 centimetres. This lamp is in perfect condition.
