Oil on panel, 17th-century Flemish landscape

This landscape painting is an oil on wooden panel dating from the 17th century. The work was created by a Flemish painter in the Baroque style. The composition depicts a view of undulating woodland bordering a body of water, dominated by buildings situated on a hilltop and brought to life by small figures. A moulded wooden frame surrounds the painting and features a metal label bearing the inscription ‘Anton Mirou’. On the reverse, the unfinished wooden panel reveals metal mounting brackets. The panel measures 26 cm in length by 20 cm in width. The work is part of the tradition of Flemish landscape painting from the Baroque period.
