Pair of silver mustard pots, Brussels, 18th century

A pair of silver mustard pots, made in Brussels in the 18th century. Each piece stands on a circular base surmounted by a pedestal with twisted fluting. The body is encircled by a decoration of garlands suspended from ribbon bows. The domed lid, crowned with a fretel, features the twisted motif. A sinuous side handle completes each container. The metal surface has a uniform patina and shows slight signs of wear from use.
