Description

This 20th-century ceremonial egg is a unique display piece. Crafted from a real ostrich egg, this object is adorned with a medallion featuring the portrait of Paul Kruger, president of the South African Republic (Transvaal) and a major figure in the Boer resistance against the British government. The ensemble is supported by an ornate silver-plated mount composed of a leafy branch emerging from a circular base with chiseled decoration of leaves, flowers, and insects. This base rests on three anthropomorphic feet, while an ostrich statuette completes the object. With a height of 56 cm and a diameter of 18 cm, this piece, in perfect condition, will find its place within a collection of exceptional display objects.
