A snuff box made of slightly smoky white agate and lapis lazuli, dating from the 19th century, originates from China. The craftsmanship of this object is characterised by a globular body finely hollowed out from the material. The upper part is closed by a lapis lazuli stopper. The whole piece stands 7.3 cm high. This example is in very good condition. Its documented provenance confirms that it was held at the Petit Musée in Montreal during 1960. This piece forms part of a collection of display objects crafted in the style of 19th-century Chinese art.
