Gilded bronze table after Adam Weisweiler, 19th century

This circular table in gilded bronze, Belgian black marble and lacquer dates from the 19th century. It is designed in the Louis XVI style after a design by Adam Weisweiler. The structure rests on three tapered legs with twisted fluting, topped by female figures in the style of Atlantean columns, connected by a curved crossbar. The emerald-green lacquered band features a garland of noble laurel in gilded bronze. The Belgian black marble top incorporates a scagliola decoration made using powdered semi-precious stones and coloured minerals. This inlay work features a central star, a floral wreath and six themed medallions.
