Originating from Shanxi province, this wooden cabinet belongs to the Chinese production of the late Qing dynasty, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. Its upright structure with straight stiles has a red lacquer finish and two doors secured by a central period metal fitting. The darker interior is fitted with storage shelves. Standing on four square-section legs joined by a plain apron, the cabinet measures 181 cm in height, 105 cm in width and 54 cm in depth. The lacquer has been fully restored.
