Originating from northern China and dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, during the Qing period, this wooden cabinet is finished in red lacquer with a varied patina that reveals the underlying wood. The front has two doors secured by a bronze fitting with two ring handles, above a compartmented lower section containing drawers. The cabinet stands on straight legs with a low apron, a construction characteristic of furniture from this region, and measures 182 cm in height, 127 cm in width and 48,5 cm in depth. It has been fully restored while preserving the authenticity of its surface.
