This Art Deco bronze group depicts an athletic trainer, his body taut as he restrains two dogs lunging forwards. A pupil of Georges Gardet and Victorien Perrin, the French sculptor Louis Riché (born in 1877) created a dynamic composition distinguished by contrasting patinas: the figure has a green patina, while the dogs have a brown patina. The work stands on a bronze base bearing the artist's signature and a foundry stamp, the whole mounted on a black marble plinth. The piece measures 42 cm in height, 60,5 cm in width and 15,5 cm in depth.
