Beautiful rosewood "bureau plat" desk

This rosewood-veneered writing table with gilt-bronze mounts dates from the second half of the 19th century and originates from France. In the Louis XV style, it has a shaped frieze fitted with three drawers to the front, with chased gilt-bronze escutcheons and handles. The rectangular top appears to have a gilt-tooled surface framed by a moulded metal border. The cabriole legs are embellished with foliate mounts extending along the edges to the sabots. Measuring 80 cm in height, 152 cm in width and 71 cm in depth, this piece has been fully restored.
