Elegant folding table in Dutch marquetry

This drop-leaf table is made of mahogany and enriched with marquetry in light-coloured and exotic woods. Dating from the first half of the 19th century, it originates from Holland. It has a rectangular top with rounded corners and two side leaves. The frieze contains two side-by-side drawers decorated with floral and scrolling marquetry. The table stands on four curved legs joined by a turned stretcher and ending in metal sabots fitted with castors. Foliate marquetry decorates the surfaces of the top, frieze and legs. The table measures 72 cm in height, 58 cm in width and 84 cm in length when closed, extending to 133,5 cm when open. Its provenance is Dutch.
