Pair of Medici vases in patinated and gilded bronze, early 19th century

This pair of Medici-style vases rests on rectangular plinths. The set is crafted from bronze with a gunmetal patina and gilded bronze, dating from the early 19th century, during the reign of Charles X. The vases have a flared profile topped by a rim adorned with friezes of ovals and pearls. The lower part of the bowls is embellished with gadroons and gilded acanthus leaves, creating a contrast with the dark patina of the body. Each bowl is flanked by two curved handles featuring foliage motifs. The pedestal is adorned with laurel motifs. The quadrangular plinths feature a relief decoration of a rustic bouquet comprising wheat, roses, cornflowers and daisies, intertwined with a cord.
