Description

This silver and carnelian necklace dates from the 20th century and originates from China. The piece consists of a pendant depicting a deity riding a chiselled mythical lion, suspended from a filigree silver chain. The chain features alternating silver elements in the shape of moths and carnelian depictions of mangoes. The piece features filigree and chiselling techniques applied to the silver. The entire piece measures 56.5 cm in length, 9 cm in width and 0.5 cm in depth. This item is preserved in its worn condition.
