Small 3-tiered side table in marquetry

This three-tier marquetry side table dates from the 19th century, during the Napoleon III period, and originates from France. It stands on four vertical supports, visibly stained black, terminating in slightly swept feet. Each rectangular tier is decorated with a central marquetry panel featuring foliage, scrolling tendrils and small stylised flowers in light-coloured wood, framed by dark reserves. The top tier is bordered by a pierced gilt-metal gallery, while the lower tiers have metal mouldings around their edges. The table measures 76 cm in height, 40 cm in width and 30 cm in depth. It is an example of 19th-century French cabinetmaking.
