This rectangular box, crafted in straw marquetry, dates from the 18th century and is in the Louis XVI style. The set comprises a main box containing six small boxes specifically designed for the game of quadrille. The surface of the main box, as well as that of the six small inner boxes, is entirely crafted in straw marquetry, forming a design of stylised floral motifs. The object measures 21.5 cm in length, 19 cm in width and 4.5 cm in height. It is in very good condition. This object is representative of works from the second half of the 18th century, combining a playful function with meticulous decorative craftsmanship.
