Description

This 19th-century work in watercolour and ink on paper depicts a pastoral scene with a peasant asleep at the foot of a tree beside his donkey, fitted with a pack saddle. The composition reflects the pastoral aesthetic characteristic of the work of Jean-Baptiste Huet, with close attention to the figures' poses and the contours of the countryside. The work is presented with a mount in a carved wooden frame. Measuring 17 cm in length by 26 cm in width, this drawing is in very good condition.
