This large oval polychrome Nevers faience jardiniere, made in the 19th century by the Montagnon factory, was crafted using a grand feu firing technique. Its hand-painted decoration depicts putti gathering black grapes. These figures are framed within rocaille cartouches, surrounded by yellow foliage against a dark blue background. The ensemble is completed by handles in the shape of winged griffins holding the rim in their beaks. In very good overall condition, this object measures 50 cm in length, 30 cm in width, and 25 cm in height.
