Description
This wood marquetry chest of drawers was made in Italy circa 1800, in the manner of the cabinetmaker Giuseppe Maggiolini. It has a veneered top and a marquetry-inlaid carcass. Its design is distinguished by geometric ornament framing the drawers and tall legs that give it considerable height. It measures 90 cm in height, 130 cm in width and 63 cm in depth. The piece has been professionally restored. An Italian Neoclassical cabinetmaker, Giuseppe Maggiolini was renowned for his work in wood and veneer.
