Description

This fireplace screen by Alfred Chambon (1884–1973) is constructed around a dark metal frame connected by a horizontal bar. The four vertical posts with flared bases support spheres that appear to be made of brass, creating a striking visual contrast. Transverse iron bars extend towards the rear for installation in the fireplace. The piece displays visible signs of wear and oxidation consistent with its 20th-century manufacture.
