Biography

Alfred Chambon (1884-1973) was a Belgian architect and designer, born and died in Ixelles, son of the architect-decorator Alban Chambon. Trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels (1901-1904), he joined his father's firm in 1905 and took it over in 1925. His works include the 'Briant' building on Place Georges Brugmann (1912) and a building for the CGER savings bank in Brussels (1930-1934). He also designed furniture combining wood, copper and stone, as well as light fixtures.
