Biography

Born in Copenhagen in 1902, Arne Jacobsen was one of the most significant Danish architects and designers of the 20th century. He graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1927, became a leading figure of functionalism and designed the furniture for his buildings, including the Egg chair (1958) and the Ant chair (1952). He received the C. F. Hansen Medal in 1955. He died in Copenhagen in 1971.
