Biography

German painter born 19 February 1871 in Dresden and died 14 August 1939 in Niederwartha, near Dresden. He trained at the Dresden School of Arts and Crafts (1885-1891) and the Munich Academy of Fine Arts (1893-1897). Active as a landscape and portrait painter and as an illustrator of children's books, he also produced copper engravings. He illustrated novels for girls by Henny Koch and contributed to the magazine Fliegende Blätter.
