Biography

Hermine Biedermann-Arendts, born in 1855 in Munich and died in 1916 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, was a German animal painter. From 1875 she was a pupil of the animal painter Heinrich von Zügel. She founded a painting school for women in Munich and was awarded a silver medal at the Crystal Palace exhibition in London in 1878. Her paintings entered the collections of Empress Elisabeth of Austria and Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria.
