Biography

Frédéric Théodore Faber (Brussels, 1782–1844) was a Belgian painter, engraver and manufacturer, trained by his father Jean-Herman Faber and then by Balthasar Ommeganck. A painter of landscapes and animals, he founded a porcelain manufactory in Brussels around 1818–1819 and thereafter devoted himself mainly to porcelain painting, becoming court porcelain painter under King William I. He also produced around a hundred etchings.
