Biography

Born in Jumet in 1896, Roger Guérin trained at the Université du Travail in Charleroi under Willem Delsaux. In 1919 he founded his own pottery in Bouffioulx, which in 1929 became the Société anonyme des Grès de Bouffioulx. A specialist in salt-glazed stoneware, he produced vases and animal sculptures and won a silver medal at the 1925 Paris Exhibition of Decorative Arts. He died in Bouffioulx in 1954.
