Biography
Dominique Pouchain was born in 1956 in Dieulefit (Drôme), son of the ceramist and painter Jacques Pouchain. He learned ceramics from 1973 in the family workshop and registered as a potter in 1977, before devoting himself to animal sculpture from 1989. His work is characterised by a matte black oxide glaze and, from 1992, by the use of alquifoux. Since 2003 he has also produced bronzes with the Barthélémy foundry.
