Biography

Born in Paris in 1926, Jean Miotte devoted himself to painting and from 1947 attended the free studios of Montparnasse. From 1953 he exhibited at the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles as a lyrical abstraction painter. A 1961 Ford Foundation grant took him to the United States. His work is held by MoMA, the Guggenheim and the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris. He died in 2016.
