Gilded brass and glass chandelier, early 19th century

This gilded brass and glass chandelier dates from the early 19th century, more specifically the 1810s. The metal structure is organised around a central rod supporting a multi-tiered framework and light arms. The glass decoration features vertical daggers as well as numerous panels depicting daisy, pearl and star motifs. The lower section is topped by a faceted glass sphere, whilst the upper section features a matching finial. The dimensions are 90 cm wide and 130 cm high. The chandelier comes from the d’Udekem d’Acoz family, to which Queen Mathilde of Belgium belongs.
