Description
This combined display and sheet music cabinet is made of mahogany, glass and fabric. Dating from the late 19th century, it comes from England and was designed by Shapland and Petter. The cabinet incorporates a rounded glazed upper section retaining its original glass, with a compartment for sheet music below. The lock bears the stamp S & P above the letter B. The mahogany surface is decorated with marquetry in various woods depicting bouquets and stylised flowers. The interior is lined with deep green fabric. The cabinet measures 198 cm in height, 116 cm in width and 43 cm in depth, and has been restored with respect for the original work.
