Description
This gilt-bronze bust depicts Napoléon after the model created by the French sculptor Antoine-Denis Chaudet (1763-1810). A work of the 19th-century French School, it is Neoclassical in style, taking the form of a herm bust, with truncated shoulders and straight sides recalling Roman imperial portraits. The name « NAPOLEON » is engraved in capital letters on the lower part of the base. The piece measures 30 cm in height, with a base 14 cm wide and 12 cm deep. The gilding shows slight fading and wear in places.
