Pair of gilded bronze candelabra, Directoire period

This pair of three-armed candelabra is made of gilded bronze and dates from the Directoire period. Each piece is centred on a slender cylindrical shaft divided into sections adorned with rosettes and acanthus foliage. At the top, three candle arms, curved into volutes and decorated with godron motifs, rise from a central point crowned by a stylised flame-shaped element. Each candelabra rests on a triangular tripod base with curved lines, supported by legs carved in the shape of clawed paws. The gilded surface shows slight localised wear as well as moderate traces of oxidation visible on the plinth.
