A self-taught designer and founder of Les Ducs de France, Nicole Duc works at the intersection of interior decoration, object design and the art of the table. Her official biography places the beginning of her professional career around the age of twenty, creating stage sets for a theatre in Greece. This first experience was followed by an extended period of travel, including Asia, the Pacific and the Americas.
Returning to France, she worked as an independent decorator, leading her own teams on renovation projects. Set design, attention to detail and visual storytelling form a continuous thread through her career.
According to the house’s own account, the idea for Les Ducs de France emerged in late 2024: to turn the meal tray into a collectible object crossed by a river of gold. The brand name pays tribute to her father. Nicole Duc brings together everyday use and symbolic meaning, drawing on her travels and family history.
The collection comprises Le Cercle des Nobles, Le Prestige des Ducs and L’Ultime Joyau. The designs combine walnut or elm burl, resin and certified 24-carat gold ingots. The first two models are presented as numbered editions of 200 examples each; the third offers personalisation. Every tray intended for sale is made to order. The house states that the wood comes from trees that have naturally completed their life cycle.
