Biography
A Luxembourg artist committed to humanist values, Jacques Schneider was appointed Knight of the Order of Civil and Military Merit of Adolphe of Nassau by the Grand Duke in 2022. Raised in a family of mathematicians and photographers, he paints, draws, photographs and sculpts his country, with orange and blue as his signature chromatic duo. His canvases layer paints and inks over photographs mounted on cotton. His brand 3xVive — “Vive eise Grand-Duc, Vive di Groussherzoglech Famill, Vive eist Land!” — brings together ethical textile creations certified Fairwear or Fairtrade. He exhibits at his boutique at 9-11 rue Louvigny in Luxembourg and at his gallery at 35 rue Lebeau in Brussels.
