Biography

The Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin (KPM) was founded in 1763 by Frederick the Great, who took over the enterprise of the merchant Johann Ernst Gotzkowsky. The king gave it his name and emblem, the royal sceptre, still used as its mark. He commissioned numerous services for his palaces. The manufactory remains active.
